Biography

Lorne Epstein is a renowned leader, empathetic coach, and educator with a remarkable career spanning over three decades. He has made a significant impact in the fields of experiential education, coaching, and change management, and is widely recognized for his expertise in reducing the impacts of unconscious bias in the workplace.

Lorne’s journey began on the bustling streets of New York City, where he worked as an Emergency Medical Technician, mastering the art of being with people in their worst moments. He moved to Washington, DC, where he worked for a senator, investigating Gulf War Syndrome. Lorne transitioned into talent acquisition, building companies in New York City, San Jose California, and Washington, DC, and creating award winning recruiting teams in Brazil, India, and the United States.

Over the years, Lorne has facilitated experiential workshops that have impacted over 13,000 professionals. His approach to teaching is unparalleled, creating an experience that is heartfelt, authentic, and memorable. His audience is drawn in by the way he weaves facts with stories, developing an expertise that elevates their awareness and leaves them profoundly transformed.

Lorne is an expert in group dynamics and understands the importance of creating transformational learning experiences. He is a recognized leader in unconscious bias, ethics, psychological safety, collaborative communications, and talent acquisition. As an HR professional since 1996, he has served as an HR Director and Vice President of Talent Acquisition, earning his SHRM-SCP.

Interview Skills to Get the Job,” which has been downloaded over a half-million times worldwide and is used in several universities to train people on how to interview to get hired. His expertise in interviewing and hiring professionals has been quoted in Forbes, Cosmopolitan, Christian Science Monitor, and other publications.

As a Vistage International speaker, Lorne consults business leaders on methods to improve the ROI of decision-making by reducing biases. In 2021, Lorne developed the Global Bias Impact Report, which has been downloaded over 1000 times worldwide. As a social scientist, he is collecting original research on the impact of bias in organizations.

Lorne is the President at Electric Cow, based in Arlington, Virginia. He received his B.S. in Business Administration from The University of Hartford and earned his master’s in Organizational Development and Knowledge Management from George Mason University. Currently, Lorne is studying Cognitive Neuroscience at George Mason University.

Despite his busy schedule, Lorne’s passions include spending time with his amazing wife, Alicia, running, reading, and cooking gourmet food for friends and family. His leadership, empathy, and dedication to creating transformational learning experiences have made him a beloved figure in the world of coaching and education.
